We’re still buzzing from the news…
Every single beer we entered into the 2025 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) picked up a medal. Yep. Every. Single. One.
For a tiny brewery tucked inside a distillery on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, brewing on a humble little kit we built ourselves, this is beyond exciting. We’re incredibly proud!
So, What’s the AIBA?
The Australian International Beer Awards, held annually in Melbourne, is the largest beer competition in the world for packaged and draught beer. It’s judged by industry legends and experts, and attracts thousands of entries from across the globe.
This year, we sent off a few of our favourites, just keen to see how they’d stack up. And the results blew us away:
🥇 GOLD
Sunset Belgian Ale– Belgian Session Ale
A smooth and slightly spicy ale with fruity esters and a light malt base. This little number is perfect for long afternoons and even longer conversations.
🥈 SILVER
Day Dream’n – Hazy Pale Ale (Keg)
Tropical, juicy, and easy as a Sunday.
Dopamine Expedition – Double Oat Cream IPA
Hazy, hoppy and rich with a lush mouthfeel.
Definitely Not Dead – Double West Coast IPA
Bitter, bold, and unapologetically West Coast.
Cherry Pick’n – Fruited Sour Ale
Sour, vibrant and bursting with ripe cherry tang.
🥉 BRONZE
No Gimmicks – West Coast IPA
Clean, clear and hop-forward, just how we like it.
Hold on to What’s Golden – Belgian Golden Ale
Golden in colour and character, with subtle spice and smoothness.
Day Dream’n – Hazy Pale Ale (Can)
Same dreamy haze, now in portable form.
A Little Context
When we say we’re small-batch, we mean it. Half Pace Brewing Co. is more of a backyard operation than a big-city brewhouse. Our setup is simple. Our batches are tiny. But the passion behind them is massive.
So to take home this lineup of medals means the world to us. It’s a win for everyone who’s ever believed in doing things the fun, scrappy, hands-on way.
What’s Next?
Well, we’ll keep doing what we love. Brewing interesting beers in small batches and serving them fresh out of the bar at Hang 10 Distillery. No expansion plans (yet), but the dream of a standalone Half Pace space is definitely alive. One day.
In the meantime, come down and try the medal winners! We’re pouring Thursday to Sunday, with fresh pizza, spirits, and plenty of good vibes.
