Distillery & Brewery Production Assistant (Casual or Part-Time Cellar Hand)

Type: Casual or Part-Time (Approx. 2-4 days/week to start, with flexibility)
Join our small and passionate team at Hang 10 Distillery and Half Pace Brewing Company, an independent, award-winning sustainable craft distillery and brewery on the Northern Beaches.
We’re on the lookout for a hands-on, reliable, team member to assist with:
- Brewing, gin, whisky, vodka etc.
- Cleaning and organising - weekly tasks, sweeping, moping etc
- Spirits production (including dilution and distilling)
- Packaging and distribution
- Assist the head distiller in daily tasks
The role is ideal for someone with some experience or interest in the beverage industry, who enjoys working independently and has strong problem-solving skills. You’ll work closely with our co-founders and distiller in a relaxed but fast-paced creative environment.
🔧 Responsibilities
- Assist in brewing, fermentation, distillation, and bottling processes
- Maintain, organise, clean equipment
- Prepare and package products for wholesale and retail
- Help with local deliveries and occasional event set-up
- Accurately follow recipes, production logs, and safety procedures
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues with initiative
🙌 What We’re Looking For
- Background in brewing, distilling, or cellar operations
- Problem solver with mechanical aptitude
- Organised and tidy worker
- Physically fit (able to lift 15-20kg)
- Trustworthy, organised, punctual, and able to work independently
- Forklift experience a bonus, RSA recommended

Must have full working rights in Australia and a current driver’s license
🕐 Hours & Pay
- Approx. 2-4 days per week (flexible, likely to be Mon, Tuesday & Wednesday, with potential to grow) - Flexibility on how many days depending on experience.
- Casual pay/part-time contract depending on experience
- Bar work experience and RSA optional but recommended.
